He was natural in the Wadsworth-Longfellow House in Portland, Maine, the son of Stephen & Zilpah (Wadsworth) Longfellow. His father was an attorney & his enate gramps Peleg Wadsworth was a general in the American Revolutionary War. He was descended from either a Longfellow personal world health organization come to Usa inside 1676 from Otley in Yorkshire, England and from Priscilla and John Alden on his father's side.

He exposed at Bowdoin College & went on to turn into bibliothec and a number one prof of modern languages there when touring Europe between 1826 and 1829.

Inside 1831, he married Mary Storer Potter who died two or three years late (1835) in Rotterdam while the few was travelling. He took higher the chair at Harvard University and later married Frances "Fanny" Appleton, dwelling at Craigie Home, overlooking a Charles River.

Around 1861, Frances died in the personal fire, devastating Longfellow. He commemorated her using a sonnet "The Cross of Snow" (1879). He died in March 24 1882.

Henry Wadsworth Longfellow is buried at Mount Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge, Massachusetts. Inside 1884 he was the foremost U.s. poet to have a bust of him situated within Poet's Corner of Westminster Abbey in London.
